Suburban to Urban
SLCC- Suburban to Urban Network
About 10 years
ago SLCC was brought into a dynamic relationship with two African-American
churches located in the city of Chicago. This network has joyfully been
expanding to other suburban and urban churches of various ethnic and cultural
backgrounds. It is our belief that suburban churches are significantly
benefited by submitting their communities to urban church leadership and
communities. As we continue to learn about this the following gatherings are
available for anyone to attend who may be interested in learning with us:
Every Wednesday
morning at 6 a.m. at Austin Corinthian Baptist Church (ACBC), 823 S Cicero Ave,
Chicago, IL 60644 (773) 626-4290. This is a time of worship, prayer, teaching,
and discussion followed by breakfast those who can stay. Directions to ACBC via
Google Maps can be found here: Directions
to ACBC.
The first
Saturday of each month at 7 a.m. at Austin Corinthian Church in Chicago (see
above address). This is a gathering of 30 to 50 people from several different
churches for worship, prayer, discussion, and presentations followed by
breakfast.
The second Sunday
of each month at various church locations (see event announcements for each
month’s location) beginning at 5 p.m. for dinner, followed by a time of worship,
teaching, and story telling.
