Important News, Notes & Events

This is the place to watch for important news, notes and events.

Second Sunday is November 9th

Another second Sunday is coming soon - November 9.  Remember, SLCC does not gather in the morning on second Sunday, but joins with at least six other churches for a multi-church, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural worship gathering in the evening.  Join us Sunday evening November 9th at 5 pm for dinner and worship at Jacob's Well Community, 3450 Maple, Evergreen Park, 60080.  More information to follow.  Dress is casual and the relationship is inspiring.

Sunday Gatherings

We gather the first, third, and fourth Sundays from 9 a.m. to approximately 11 a.m. at the Darien Park District Community Center, 7301 Fairview Avenue ( just north of the intersection of Fairview and 75th street in Darien.)

Our gathering on the second Sunday of each month begins at 5 p.m. for dinner followed by a time of worship, teaching, and the sharing of stories.  This is done at various locations with a growing network of diverse churches in both the suburbs and city.

Dress at all of our gatherings is very casual and a light breakfast is available at morning gatherings.

Message for Sunday november 16

"We are the people that we and God have been waiting for."  Join us this weekend as we think about this theme.  We are finishing up our theme of "Loving God, Loving Neighbor" by thinking through the bigger picture of things - where are we headed?  Does what we do now make any difference for the future God is leading us to?  We will think through these themes and questions from the perspectives of Revelation 22:1-5 and Ephesians 5:8-17.
